Incoming for Teaching (STA)

Erasmus+ Staff Mobility for Teaching (STA) – Incoming Staff

Accademia di Belle Arti di Palermo welcomes academic staff from partner higher education institutions participating in the Erasmus+ Staff Mobility for Teaching (STA) programme.

Teaching mobility is regarded as an opportunity to strengthen international academic cooperation, promote the exchange of teaching methodologies and artistic practices, and develop long-term collaborations between institutions. Incoming mobility is therefore encouraged not only as a teaching activity, but also as a means of fostering dialogue, shared research interests and future joint initiatives.

Particular value is given to teaching programmes that:

  • encourage the exchange of innovative teaching methodologies and artistic practices;
  • promote collaboration between departments, research groups and academic staff;
  • contribute to the development of joint educational, artistic or research projects;
  • generate outcomes that can benefit both the host and the sending institution.

Teaching Activities

Before the mobility begins, participants are required to submit a Teaching Programme, agreed upon by the sending and host institutions, specifying:

  • the objectives and content of the teaching activities;
  • the duration of the mobility;
  • the teaching schedule, including a minimum of 8 teaching hours, in accordance with Erasmus+ Programme rules;
  • the expected outcomes of the mobility.

Teaching activities may include lectures, workshops, seminars, critiques, laboratory activities and other educational initiatives agreed with the relevant academic department.

Support and Integration

The Academy provides incoming teaching staff with:

  • academic and administrative assistance before and during the mobility;
  • support in organising meetings and teaching activities;
  • access to classrooms, laboratories, workshops, libraries and institutional facilities;
  • information on the Academy’s educational offer and international activities.

Incoming staff may also participate in cultural initiatives organised by the Academy and, where available, attend the free Italian language course offered to Erasmus+ participants.

Building Long-Term Cooperation

The Accademia di Belle Arti di Palermo considers teaching mobility an important opportunity to establish lasting academic relationships with partner institutions.

For this reason, particular attention is given to mobilities that may lead to future exchanges, collaborative teaching activities, exhibitions, workshops, research projects and other shared initiatives, ensuring that the experience generates tangible benefits for both institutions and their academic communities.
